Fossilized Palm Root

Indonesian fossil palm root can make a stunning specimen with qxqits contrast of flaming neutral base against the black abyss. Petrified wood (from the Latin meaning “rock” or “stone”; literally “wood turned into stone”) is the name given to a special type of fossilized remains of terrestrial vegetation. Petrification is the result of a tree’s organic material being replaced by stone through a mineralization process. Petrified wood ends up as a three-dimensional representation of the original organic material. It makes for some unique and interesting results for stone. The important thing to remember is that Fossilized or Agatized specimens do not contain any remaining organic matter. For example, you are not taking wood or coral from the environment. These specimens are solid stone. Your Fossilized specimen will be safe for cleaning with water but avoid prolonged water exposure.
