Mountain Aura Crystals

Grape Agate is a relatively new find and extremely unique to the collector. Although the trade name is Grape Agate, these are actually Botryoidal Purple Chalcedony. Botryoidal refers to sphere-shaped crystals that have naturally formed. Grape Agate has an amazing lustre on higher quality specimens, with lower quality having a dull finish but still being equally impressive in formation. In some cases with grape agate, you may find small bits of natural clay and debris within your “grapes” which is normal. This is the matrix your specimen was in when it was in the ground. It does not always require removal and in some cases it can actually be part of the structure holding your specimen together. Grape Agate is a very fragile stone and should be handled as such. For cleaning please use a soft, dry brush and gently clean your specimen. Water will not damage your specimen but can sometimes damage the matrix within your specimen.
