Mountain Aura Crystals

Celestite derives its name from the Latin word “caelestis” meaning celestial. Celestine or Celestite is a mineral consisting of strontium sulfate. The mineral is named for its beautiful soft blue color. Celestite and the carbonate mineral strontianite are the principal sources of the element strontium, commonly used in fireworks. The conditions for Celestite to form are quite specific causing this mineral to be a harder one to come by. It is found within geodes which are packed by their matrix. Celestite geodes are not water safe. The mineral itself can tolerate short baths in water however the matrix holding the geode together may fall apart, destroying the integrity of your geode.
