Mountain Aura Crystals

Garnets are found throughout the world in metamorphic, igneous, and sedimentary rocks. Garnet is also found in the rocks of contact metamorphism, subsurface magma chambers, lava flows, deep-source volcanic eruptions, and the soils and sediments formed when garnet-bearing rocks are weathered and eroded. Most people associate the word “garnet” with a deep red color but Garnets can actually occur in many other colors and have many uses. Garnet is actually the mineral class and not referring to a particular mineral, however, the term Garnet is usually used in reference to the deep red Almandine. The main common types of Garnet include Almandine, Andradite, Grossularite, Pyrope, Spessartine, and Uvarovite. Garnets are water safe for short periods of time (cleaning) but should not be subjected to long-term water exposure.
