Mountain Aura Crystals

Amazonite is the common name used for a greenish-blue gemstone. Amazonite is a variety of potassium feldspar called microcline. There has been a lot of discussion on the origin of the green color in this mineral. Researchers thought the color came from lead but new studies have found that iron may have a role in the greenish blue colour in Amazonite. This Amazonite’s first find and use are believed to date back as far as the 10th century BC. Amazonite is also known as the “Amazon stone,” because it was thought to have been discovered at the Amazon River Basin in Brazil. The best quality of Amazonite has a striking green or blue color with very little, to no other color inclusions.
