Mountain Aura Crystals

Receiving its name for its original source at the Musinoi mine in Kolwezi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kolwezite is a rare mineral that occurs in copper-cobalt hydrothermal ore deposits. Some also use the term Kolwezite to refer to the minerals commonly contained within specimens as well. For example, Cobalto Calcite can be Kolwezite but not all Kolwezite is Cobalto Calcite. Kolwezite specimens contain mineral combination possibilities of Dolomite, Zinc, Cobalt, Nickel and Copper, commonly associated with Druzy Quartz, Azurite, Shattuckite, Chrysocolla or Malachite, in various combinations. The varying amount of combinations means that Kolwezite specimens are found in a wide range of colours, but usually have a similar formation of drusy coating on matrix. Based on the amount of combinations, it is best to say these minerals are not water safe.
