Mountain Aura Crystals

Kunzite is commonly a purple to a pink variety of the mineral Spodumene first discovered in 1902. It can also be found colorless and in rare color shades which are affected either by inclusions of minerals or by a lack of inclusion. Its name came from gemologist Frederick Kunz, who was the first to identify this beautiful stone as an individual type of Spodumene. Its soft feminine color comes from trace amounts of Manganese and often appears transparent to semi-opaque with high-quality specimens being transparent, lower quality specimens being semi-opaque. In addition to the transparency, the brightness of the specimen also affects the value. Kunzite is not water safe and is best kept out of direct sunlight.
