Phosphosiderite

Phosphosiderite is a rare mineral named for its unique makeup of phosphate and iron. The coloring of this stone is usually pink to purple and contains golden yellow veins within its pastel base color. The vein-like streaks found in the stone are known as the mineral Cacoxenite. Four other rare color variants are rose red, brown-reddish yellow, mossy green, and dark shades of purple. The “siderite” at the end of Phosphosiderite comes from “sideros”, the Greek word for iron. Phosphosiderite is not water safe.
