Mountain Aura Crystals

Lapis lazuli, or lapis for short, is a deep-blue semi-precious stone with pyrite inclusions. The most abundant mineral in lapis lazuli is lazurite (being a member of the Sodalite family) however most Lapis Lazuli also contains Calcite (white), Sodalite (blue), and Pyrite (gold). Lapis Lazuli has been mined in Afghanistan and exported along the ancient trade route between Afghanistan and the Indus Valley, dating to the 7th millennium BCE. Lapis is a valuable historical stone but is still actively mined today. There is some conflict regarding the mining of Lapis, however, there are many good people and small businesses in conflict areas that rely on mineral sales to support their families. All Lapis sold on the Mountain Aura Crystals site have been sourced as ethically as possible through a known and trusted source. Due to the Pyrite in Lapis Lazuli, water should be avoided.
