Mountain Aura Crystals

Stichtite is a mineral composed of Chromium and Magnesium. Its colour ranges from pink all the way to a deep purple colour, but purple is the most commonly seen color. Dark purple Stichtite inclusions can also be found in some green serpentine, which creates a stone called Atlantisite or Tasmanite. Discovered in 1910 in Tasmania, Australia, it was first recognized by a former chief chemist with the Mount Lyell Mining and Railway Company, it was named after Robert Carl Sticht the manager of the mine. Stichtite can be described as waxy, greasy, soapy and pearly. Stichtite is soluble in acids and has a very low rating on the hardness scale meaning it is an extremely soft stone. Care should be taken with your new specimen as it is a more fragile stone, and should not be submerged in water for any extended period.
