Info: Chalcedony is a form of silica that can be a variety of different colors, composed of very fine inter-growths of Quartz and Moganite. It can be found in botryoidal, common stalactite and in a rounded flat stalactite shape. Chalcedony has a waxy lustre, and may be semi-transparent or translucent. Chalcedony is pronounced “kal-c-doh-knee”. Most Chalcedony will be water safe but it is best to keep your specimen from being submerged for any period of time.
