Info: Clear Quartz is often an overlooked stone but is one of the most complex and beautiful minerals the earth can create. Often, Clear Quartz can contain small faults or cracks resulting in awe-inspiring rainbow spectrums that can be visible inside specimens. The name for Quartz is derived from the German word “Quarz”, which had the same form in the first half of the 14th century. The Ancient Greeks referred to quartz as “krustallos” derived from the Ancient Greek “kruos” meaning “icy cold”, as philosophers believed the mineral to be a form of ice. Quartz as a grouping is the second most abundant mineral in Earth’s continental crust, behind feldspar and one of the most popular. Clear Quartz is generally a water-safe mineral and can withstand water exposure.
