This Fluorite comes from a world famous fluorite mine in Kandahar.  It is known the world over for it’s glass like windows and color patterns.

Fluorite Is the mineral form of calcium fluoride. It belongs to the halide minerals. It crystallizes in isometric cubic habit, although octahedral are not uncommon. Pure fluorite is transparent, both in visible and ultraviolet light, but impurities usually make it a colorful mineral. Fluorite was named after the Latin word, fluere, meaning “to flow,” stemming from Fluorite’s ability to act as a flux between metals. Fun fact.. The fluoride in toothpastes is a chemical made from the mineral fluorite.
