Info: Lithium Quartz obtained its name due to the idea that this Quartz material contains Lithium inclusions. Lithium inclusions can appear in both pink, purple and grey coloring and in both transparent and opaque Quartz. It may also take phantom formations as inclusions formed in layers as the crystal was forming, causing a layering effect within the crystal. The amount of Lithium varies and is thought to be due to amounts of Lepidolite, especially in pink to purple specimens, and Lithium Quartz is known to contain other minerals like Manganese, Aluminum, Iron, and Kaolinite. This type of quartz is only found in Brazil and can be hard to find for purchase, which does cause it to have a higher price tag than some other Quartz specimens. Lithium Quartz is water safe unless the inclusion is an external coating, then care should be taken to not submerge the specimen.
