Info: Polychrome Jasper, also known as Desert Jasper, is a brightly colored pink, green, purple, orange, yellow, red and brown variety of Jasper discovered in Madagascar in 2008. While exploring for more deposits of Ocean Jasper, the first deposit of Polychrome was accidentally discovered. Polychrome Jasper only forms in huge masses and received its name from its first discovery, distinct shades of brown, red, and tan. These bold colors of browns and reds are caused by inclusions by the metal known as Iron. Polychrome is able to be cleaned by water but should not be left submerged in case any iron inclusions are exposed.
