Info: Brecciated Purple Jasper is thought to be Jasper and matrix containing the possibility of Opalized Fluorite, Serpentine, Hematite, Pyrite, and clear/white Quartz inclusions. The term “brecciated” comes from “breccia”, a word used to identify rock made up of broken fragments mixed together into a matrix. Brecciated jasper is made when the earth mixes fragments of stone together. Jasper is a variety of quartz that may contain up to 20 percent foreign materials or inclusions, including organic material and mineral oxides, which determine the color, pattern and appearance of the stone. Brecciated Jasper is water safe for cleaning but should not remain submerged for any period of time.
