Selenite, also known as satin spar, desert rose, or gypsum flower are four crystal structure varieties of the mineral gypsum. These four varieties of gypsum may be grouped together and called selenite. The most common form of “Selenite” actually being satin spar is a fiberous stone where as true selenite is more of a transparent slab without fiber. All Selenite family minerals are NOT water friendly and should never be submerged in water.
