Info: Smoky quartz is a highly popular translucent variety of quartz that ranges in color from brownish-gray to black. Like other Quartz, it is a silicon dioxide crystal. It gets its smoky colour from natural irradiation exposure. In the 12th century, the Chinese fashioned natural sunglasses out of Smoky Quartz panes. Smoky quartz can be found in single quartz points, clusters, sceptres or elestial clusters. Much of the authentic natural Smoky Quartz has been coming from Brazil recently, but can be found worldwide, however it has recently become harder to source and find to purchase. Smoky Quartz is water safe.
